Wow... Something terrible must have happened with the code or something. I really want to see CCP Wolfman's blog (due today I believe) about just what the hell is happening behind the scenes.
It's important for us not to panic and be understanding here guys. I'm sure CCP is doing everything they can. |

I'd imagine the CPM is trying to get the boosters removed completely. |

DUST Fiend wrote:We are so still in Beta
The only reason we left Beta in the first place was because Sony was pressing CCP to release -something- and as a direct result CCP took the fall for it. Sony's still making bank no matter what, so I'd imagine it's a non-issue.
Back in August 2012 we had predicted that Beta would last at least another year or more. Think we were right in that assumption. |

Funkmaster Whale wrote:No vehicle/weapon balance in 1.5 and now not in 1.6. If anything this really goes to show the value of CCP's claims. If something as critical as "rebalancing" takes several months to implement, I'm wondering how long something like PvE or a new game mode will take. Years? Is anyone still going to be around then? This whole monthly patch process is actually turning out to be a detriment to the players because it seems like patches are getting smaller and smaller with little to no actual content. Everything is just fixes. Fixes, tweaks, more fixes, more bugs appear which need more fixes, then more tweaks and some more fixes and then those fixes in turn break 10 other things. This project is turning into a disaster
It's important to remember that CCP stated that they would -try- to get these features out by those times. I'm pretty sure they don't want another account of Tactical Assault Rifles, Flaylocks and Murder Taxi's so they're going to work out all of those kinks from the get go.
As far as rebalance taking years, bear in mind that CCP Iceland has spent the past -two years- working on re-balancing every single ship in the game as well as a few terrible mechanics we've had to deal with for far longer and they're still not done.
It requires patience and honestly, waiting six months or however long is a small price to pay for something to work flawlessly upon implementation which is something CCP Iceland has seemed to master as of recently (props to CCP Fozzie for that). It's just going to take time. |

actually they're having public holidays over there, first it was the mid-autumn festival which was like a 3-5 day holiday, then followed a week later by national day which was like 7-10 days holiday. work wont be as fast as it should be when china has over 120 public holidays a year That's not really a problem imo, the real problem is : how many guys are working on Dust 514 right now? Whatever the answer is , they're probably way too few.
There is a Credits option in Dust 514 under Systems Operations, I believe. |

Just because they want the prices reduced doesn't mean they agree with them =P |

No, they are advocating a price reduction across the board. See here. And here. And my response here. And here. Just because they want the prices reduced doesn't mean they agree with them =P Obviously, if they are advocating a price reduction, they agree that the prices are too high. Regardless of that, my focus is on the fact that the price of boosters is really a trivial community concern compared to the mountain of other concerns which are being completely ignored by the CPM. The CPM seem to have disregarded the community in all areas except where their own priorities intersect, such as the price of Boosters. This is not how community representatives are supposed to conduct themselves. They need to leave their personal agendas at the door, when they step into their official capacity as our representatives.
See, funny thing is that the community has this misrepresentation of what the CPM actually is - they're not really there to listen to the community they're there to sanity check CCP's design philosophies before they're released to ensure that they're not doing something insane. The success of that is determined by how willing CCP is to listen.
The CPM isn't actually there to talk with the community, just represent them. What they provide to CCP is what can be assumed as the greater good for the majority of players - that doesn't necessarily mean they have to be active within the community to accomplish that but it certainly helps.
But, to put it bluntly, when you're being **** on by developers and the community alike it's not surprising that many of the CSM/CPM go into hiding and just not talk to anyone. They still do their job and pretty effectively, I might add.
Another misconception is that the CPM -has- to be active in the community or more specifically on the forums. They posted up their contact details for you to get in touch with them so if you have an issue you feel needs brought up, present it to them! That's exactly what I did and I got far better a response than I originally had prepared myself for. It's not always a battle to get what you want and as with all things in life you'll catch more flies with honey.
The Council Chambers sub-forum is a great place to get up to date on what exactly the CPM is doing, Hans actually updates frequently and it's good to read over what is posted even if it's sparse information that you might disagree with.
